Adam Lempel of Weekends has a new band - The Heartbeats. Their debut album is iconic and catchy. It is full of potential singles and songs that you will never be able to get out of your head. The self titled debut album was appropriately released on Valentine's day this year, as almost every song is some kind of love song. Influenced by everyone from Buddy Holly to Elvis Costello, The Heartbeats are doing a retro thing that takes a little bit from every era: 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and today.

Adam originally conceived this as a solo project and most of the instruments on the record were played by him and then multitrack layered on top of one another. But he assembled a large group to recreate the sound for The Heartbeats live show. The full line up is Brian on bass, Jon on keys, Stephan and Roddy on guitar, Matt and Russell on drums, and Kate and Tiffany singing back up. This brings a full sound and a fun variety to the shows.

They just got back from South By Southwest and are looking forward to playing shows and lounging by the pool during the hot Baltimore summer.
